Evolve Business Training, part of Tresham, hosted a celebration event for those who have recently completed the Work Based Support and Mentoring Programme which aims to improve business managers to support their staff and improve communication. The event held at the college’s Manor House Restaurant in Corby on Wednesday 18th March, celebrated the achievements of a number of employees who completed the six month programme from local companies; Ensafe, Alpha Cure Ltd, Brats Day Nursery, Pluswipes and Pure Drive Fine Foods.

The Exemplas funded Work Based Support and Mentoring Programme is designed to support employers in becoming a mentor and equip them with the skills to help new employees settle into the workplace. To ensure the individuals have the necessary skills to support others, the course covers; mentoring and coaching skills, team building, conflict resolution and much more. This programme can also be enhanced by other funded courses such as Apprenticeships.

The event included speeches from Tina Prati, Business Liaison Manager for Evolve who recognised the individuals achievements and approached them with future training progressions available to them within Evolve and Tresham.

Trainer, Janice McNamara who taught the programme and aided all the participants to succeed said
It has been a privilege to work with such an interesting and diverse range of companies. The programme gives senior managers and managers/supervisors from different sectors the opportunity to learn from each other about how to support staff and improve communication. The content of the programme is bespoke to the needs of the participants, by responding to the specific issues that they face in the work place. The participants have really enjoyed the programme and the biggest impact for the companies has been where they have embedded the mentoring approaches and improved communications as a key element of their work force development. This six month programme takes both senior managers and manager/mentors on a journey which builds their confidence to implement the step changes that are key to improved communication and improved productivity”.

Congratulations to all those who have completed the Work Based Support and Mentoring Programme. A great achievement!
