U21 Team Claim League Title with 1-1 Draw at Burton Albion

U21 win at Burton Albion

Tresham’s U21 squad clinched top spot in the Central Conference reserve league this month following a 1-1 draw at the Pirelli Stadium, home of Burton Albion.

Dion Sembie-Ferris scored Tresham’s equaliser to help the U21 squad to the league crown as they drew away to 2nd place Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium.

Tresham’s side controlled the game but for a loose bit of marking at a corner which saw them fall behind to the home side. Not fazed, the away side pressed on and scored a deserved equaliser through, the again, impressive Sembie-Ferris from the U18 Elite squad.

During the second half Tresham dominated midfield and created various chances to win the game, with only the post and some good goalkeeping keeping the host level.

Despite the pressure the break through wasn’t to come, but the draw meant that Tresham top the league by 2 points in their 1st season in the competition.

It is hoped that this win will lead onto more success for the 2013-14 season.

The U21 Senior Academy Squad is now taking new applications and looking for young players who need expert help and guidance to assist them with the transition into senior football and achieve their potential whether in the professional or semi-professional game.
