Two Week Course Assists Employers to fill Vacancies
A group of 11 people aged 19 to 24 who have been out of work and claiming benefits for some time have completed the Level 1 Customer Service Pre-employment Training offered by Tresham and held at the Rushden Jobcentre Plus resulting in six offers of employment from MCE Insurance.
The two week course offered in partnership between Tresham and Jobcentre Plus and funded by the Skills Funding Agency follows a recent project held in Kettering which focused on the Care sector. The course assists local employers to fill vacancies who guarantee interviews for individuals completing the course, in this case with Rushden based with Rushden-based insurance call centre, MCE Insurance.
This course has been offered by during a time of rising unemployment especially for young people aged 16-24 which is currently at a record high with 1.042 million recorded in the three months to January 2012.
The two week course was offered to individuals who had been referred to Tresham by Jobcentre Plus and covered a range of different exercises aimed to increase individuals self confidence, interview skills and CV writing to support their job search.
As a result of completing the course a total of 6 people, more than half of those who completed the course have been offered jobs with MCE Insurance and one other has found employment in another organisation.
