Tresham Football Academy Stars Make Debut for League Clubs

29.10.2014

Corby Campus 075

On Friday 12th September, Ade Yustuff signed his first professional contract with Dagenham and Redbridge FC, making his debut the day after his club played Cambridge United.

Ade, 20 from London, joined Tresham’s U21 Football Academy after being released by Stevenage Borough FC. He was looking for a continuation of his full time professional training schedule as well as guidance from the Academy staff. Ade studied at the college for two years on the HND sports and exercise science course.

Whilst playing for Tresham Ade was a key part of the team and a real asset with his strength and pace at the fore front. He had a positive trial at Ipswich Town FC whilst with the college and although he didn’t get offered a contract, he did gain plaudits from the first team manager Mick McCarthy.

Dion Sembie-Ferris also recently signed to Colchester United for this current season and he, like Ade, is a perfect example of what can be achieved as a result of joining Tresham Academy of Sport. He said “Everything has gone amazingly well. All the managers are really impressed and I made my debut for the first team in the cup playing a full 90 minutes. A shock to the system but it was a great experience.”

Jon Heathcote, Academy Director for Tresham Academy of Sport said: “I’m delighted for both Ade and Dion who worked so hard to achieve their dreams. They both suffered setbacks and disappointment when they were released from professional clubs, but they quickly recognised what Treshams elite Football academy could offer them. They were shining examples of the type of players and students we are looking for to benefit from our structure and expertise. Their dedication and determination to listen, work hard and progress just highlights what can be achieved when you put your mind to it. It is central to what we set out to achieve with every single player here at Tresham and to have two players both signing professional contracts and both playing in the football league structure is just fantastic for the players and a great testament to the coaching staff here who helped them.

Tresham’s under 18 squad played Northampton Town FC on Monday 20th October. Whilst the under 21 squad won against Brackley on the 23rd winning 3-2.
