Tresham Football Academy Awarded Category 1 Status!

Tresham College of Further and Higher Education’s Football Academy Programme has successfully entered the new English Colleges Football Academy (ECFA) Category 1 tier for the 2013-14 season. Entry into the new structure which has seen the English Colleges and British College organisations merge was limited to colleges who met the very highest standards of both facilities and provision for the players.

Jonathan Heathcote, Tresham’s Football Academy Director said:
“This is great recognition of what we offer here for young talented players showing it is of the very highest standard both on and off the field.
By agreeing a ground share at Corby Town FC we have been able to put the last piece of the puzzle in place to complement our already excellent facilities. We are very grateful to Kevin Ingram and Corby Town FC for allowing us to work alongside them to further enhance the development of young players from 16 – 21 years of age.”
Principal Stuart Wesselby added:

“Our aim to is to provide excellence. Being able to meet the needs of elite level players is something which we are proud of at Tresham and hope to continue into the future. This is a great opportunity for the college and our sports staff to be recognised on a national stage for excellence via the ECFA Category 1 license. I wish the team and staff every success for the coming season.”
