Each year since 2003, Northamptonshire’s Prince’s Trust Team’s are celebrated at the annual Celebrate Success Awards, with some individuals and teams having been recognized at the national awards for their hard work and inspiring transformation.

Most recently, Steven Carruthers who joined the Team programme in 2012 was a finalist in the national Celebrate Success Awards 2014 and is even featuring in the national campaign to celebrate 25 years of The Prince’s Trust.

Steven says he owes his life to the programme, and specifically Prince’s Trust Team Leader of 11 years, Wayne Taylor.

Steven commented:

“Before I joined Team, I wasn’t in a good place. I had no confidence, very little direction and I kept shutting myself off from everyone. The support I received from Wayne was absolutely invaluable. Simply put, I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for him.

Whether he’s on Prince’s Trust time or his own time, it makes no difference to Wayne he is always there. He puts young people he works with before anything, and he provides whatever he can; if it’s emotional support, confidence building or a gentle pushingIPhone Pix Feb 15 373web in the right direction, Wayne has the experience to help young people get back on track.

It’s great that the Trust recognise people when they overcome obstacles. But none of that would be possible without the support of the staff on the front line. People like Wayne put their life on hold to help others – it’s incredible really.

Wayne has worked as a team leader for 11 years – the impact he has had in the Northamptonshire area has been huge. I just want to say thank you to him and all of the supporters across the UK who help young people turn their lives around.”

Tresham delivers The Prince’s Trust programme in Corby, Kettering, Wellingborough, Northampton and Market Harborough with Team’s starting in September, January and April. For more information about the programme visit, email or call 0345 658 89 90.
