Success at National Song Writing Competition
One of our very own Musical Theatre students is celebrating success in a national song writing competition. Cecilia Ventura, who is currently in her first year of the level 3 Musical Theatre course at Tresham, scored an impressive 8 out of 10 for her original song, “Wake Me Up”. The score was a high enough to see her receive the semi-finalist award in the under 18’s category.
The national competition is judged by industry professionals, some of which have worked with the likes of Jessie J and Elton John. Cecilia, who is hoping to work towards a career in the music industry, said:
“I have always loved singing and am really enjoying developing my skills on the Musical Theatre course. I also perform with bands at the Kettering Music and Performing Arts Centre and regularly sing at open mic sessions. I am really pleased with the success of “Wake Me Up” and plan to enter the competition again”.Back to news
