Students Pack Their Bags
On Tuesday 3rd March, 18 Tresham students flew to Costa Adeje in Tenerife for a week’s residential trip as part of their course. All the students are in their second year studying the Level 3 Travel and Tourism course.
As part of the Level 3 course the group complete a unit in which they “plan their own visit”, this includes; setting the budget, saving for the trip, choosing the destination, finding accommodation and organising the excursions for an overall itinerary.
As part of their trip they visited two of the largest tourist attractions in the area, Siam and Loro Pargue. The group sailed out in a catamaran to see dolphins and pilot whales as well as participating in an educational tour around the island on a Jeep Safari.
Rachel Ellis, Travel and Tourism tutor said: “All of the students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are now evaluating the outcome of the trip. The residential trip has provided essential knowledge and experience in an industry that is expanding rapidly. It is important to give students real life experiences to further their knowledge and experience and aid them in gaining the best employment once completing their qualifications”.Back to news
