Students Compete for Region at National AoC Championships
Two of Tresham College’s Level 3 Sport students Holly Jackson and Chloe Rowlatt are celebrating after competing at the Association of Colleges (AoC Sport) National Student Championships at the end of April.
Chloe and Holly represented the East Midlands region by competing in the Table Tennis championships following regional qualifiers earlier this year.
The National Championships see nine college regions competing as squads against each other in multiple sports for the chance to claim the ‘Wilkinson Sword’. The championships showcase the best college sporting talent and the standard was very high across all sports.
Both Holly and Chloe competed well for the East Midlands as a doubles team and helped place the regional squad to a sixth place finish in table tennis and 4th place overall in the championships.
Chloe and Holly are able to combine the opportunity to enrich their time at Tresham by developing their sporting talent whilst studying their sports qualification.
Dan Burns, Head of Faculty said:
“I’d like to thank AoC Sport for providing the opportunity for us to compete in the championships and providing a competition structure that allows students to showcase their talents.
Well done to Chloe and Holly and we wish them all the best for future competitions.”
“It was really good taking part in the competitions. I hope to be able to continue playing when I get to uni in September and see how it goes from there.”

I really enjoyed it and it was great to represent Tresham in a sport that is not that we are not well known for. I want to continue playing at uni as part of my course and will look for clubs when I get to Liverpool.
