Achieve your full potential with an Advanced Learning Loan

Did you know that you can take out a loan to cover your course fees if you are aged 19 or over?

Advanced Learning Loans are a great way to cover the cost of your course fees if you are thinking of studying a Level 3 or Level 4 course.

The loans are not means-tested and are offered regardless of your current employment status. They cover the cost of your course and you don’t have to repay the loan until you are earning over £21,000 per annum.

Who can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan?

You can apply for an Advanced Learning Loan if:

  • You are aged 19 or above at the start of your course
  • You are studying for an approved Level 3 or Level 4 course
  • You are a UK resident and have been for at least three years
  • You have not previously had a loan to do the same type and level of qualification

When will I repay my loan?

You will not have to start repaying your loan until you have completed your course and you are earning over £21,000 per annum.

If you use the loan to fund an Access to Higher Education course then you will not have to repay the loan at all if you progress onto and complete a Higher Education / degree level programme. Click here to find out more about our full time or part time Access to Higher Education programmes.

How do I find out more information?

If you are interested in finding out more about how an Advanced Learning Loan could help you to achieve your study goals then please speak to our Customer Services Team who will be able to advise on your eligibility and how to apply. Alternatively you can also find out more information by visiting the UK Government website.
