Tresham offers a wide range of higher level qualifications on both full time and part time basis, giving you the flexibility you need to achieve your study objectives around other life commitments.
We recognise the value of work experience when studying for higher level qualifications so please contact us to discuss your options as formal qualifications are not always necessary.
To help you decide which type of qualification best suits your needs here is an explanation of the course types that we offer:
These programmes mix workplace learning with academic study and are designed closely with employers to ensure relevancy to specific job sectors. A foundation degree can qualify students to progress onto a Bachelor Degree programme.
These programmes are specialist vocational learning courses at levels 4 and 5. They have a strong emphasis on developing practical skills alongside specialist knowledge and understanding for the sector. HNC and HND courses are degree-level qualifications.
A HNC is equivalent to the first year of a Bachelor’s degree programme and can be studied either in one year (2 evenings per week or one full day per week) or two years (one evening per week). An additional year’s study (equivalent to one full day a week) raises this qualification to a HND which is roughly equivalent to completion of a second year of a degree programme.
We offer a number of teaching qualifications in partnership with the University of Bedfordshire. These qualifications are recognised in all areas of post-16 education and can be studied at two levels, the Certificate of Education or the Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Both the Certificate and the PGCE course will develop your understanding of learning and teaching processes and provide the opportunity to apply theory to current practice.
This programme has been specifically designed for adults who have been out of education for some time but would like to enter higher education. You will be trained in the necessary study skills and knowledge needed to move through to other higher-level study programmes such as degrees and diplomas.
