Full-time course fees

If you are aged 16-18 on 31 August 2021, a British or European Union resident and looking to study at Level 2 and Level 3, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees are FREE, except Access to Higher Education courses where a fee may be charged.

If you are aged 19 to 23 on 31 August 2021 and looking to study your first full-time Level 2 or Level 3 qualification, the tuition fee will be free. If you are aged 19 or above on 31 August 2021 and already have a Level 3 qualification or if you are aged 24 or over, you will need to pay a fee. You may be eligible to apply for an Advanced Leaner Loan. This will be dependent on the Level 3 programme you choose to study.

Aged 19-23? Unemployed and seeking employment?

Then your course could be FREE! You will be eligible if you are an unemployed individual, on a state benefit* and you want to enter employment and need the skills from one of our funded courses to achieve this.

* (Income Support (universal credit), Job Seekers, Housing Benefit, Council tax Benefit, Pension Credit, ESA contribution Based, ESA work related activity group. Includes SFA funded courses only. You must be aged 19-23 on 31 August 2021. You must produce evidence of the benefit in your name when you enrol. Excludes all higher education courses.

Additional costs

For some of our study programmes, you may have to pay for certain things you need in order to successfully study your subject. These can include specialist textbooks, uniforms or equipment, as well as trips and visits that boost your understanding of your subject. You can find out if there are any additional costs by searching for your study programme via our course search and looking under the ‘Additional Information’ heading. Financial support may be available to help with these costs.

Part-time course fees

How do I find out what the fee for my course is?

The fee for your chosen course is listed on the individual course pages that you can access via the course search. It includes the cost of tuition plus the cost of any exam and registration fee charged by the exam board (if applicable).

Are there any other costs I may have to pay?

Some courses may require you to pay extra costs for things such as course books, trips, and specialist equipment or clothing. If your course has any additional costs, these will also be listed on the individual course pages accessed via the course search, or you can call 0345 658 8990.

I’m an international student – are my course fees different?

If you have not been resident in the UK, EU or EEA for more than three years before the start of your course (excluding any time spent in full-time education), different course fees may apply to you – please call +44 (0)345 658 8990 to find out more.

My employer is funding my course – what do I need to do?

You’ll need to provide a signed letter or purchase order from your employer and we will invoice them accordingly. Call our Business Development team on 01234 291747 to find out more.

Pay by instalments

Taking out a loan isn’t the only way to pay for your course – for courses over £200 The Bedford College Group also offers an affordable Direct Debit instalments option to help make part-time study more affordable and spread the cost of tuition fees.

Advanced Learner Loans

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.

The government National Skills Fund supports adults to train and gain skills by studying a fully-funded Level 3 qualification (equivalent to an advanced technical certificate, diploma or A-Levels) to improve job prospects.

Additional costs

Depending on your chosen course, there may be costs you have to pay in addition to any course fees, which could include money for books, trips, equipment or specialist clothing required by your course. For more information just check your chosen course online via our course search.

Tuition fees

The price you will pay for each year of your chosen course is listed on the course pages accessed via the course search. For courses longer than one year, the fee you will pay for the second or any subsequent years of the course will rise in line with the Retail Price Index (RPI).

Advanced Learner Loans

If you are aged 19 or over you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost of this course more affordable.

Avoid upfront fees

No matter whether you’re interested in full-time or part-time higher education study, low-interest loans are now available to pay for the cost of tuition fees, so you can study now and pay later. And for full-time students, you can also apply for help towards living costs.

Funding for your Access course

Aged 19 or over and thinking of taking one of our Access to Higher Education courses? To help make studying more affordable you can apply for a low-interest Advanced Learner Loan to pay for your tuition fee – and if you go on to complete a higher education qualification after your Access course, any remaining loan amount will be written off!
