Photography Learner wins Competition

Robin Ralph

Michael Riding from The Eltherington Group Limited came into Tresham to present Robin Ralph, a photography student with £100 for winning their photography challenge.

The Eltherington Group is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of high quality aluminium and PVC-U solutions for the architectural, modular building and leisure sectors. They were involved with building the lift cladding at our Kettering campus in 2007.

Michael was looking for some photos that they could use in marketing collateral and gave all Tresham photography students the opportunity to enter the competition.  Michael sat down with a panel at The Eltherington Group and went through all the entries to decide on a winner.

Michael said:

“We were very impressed with the standard and selection of all the entries. It was really hard to make a decision as it was very close. However we decided to go with Robin as we could use 8 out of the 9 pictures that he sent through. We are really looking forward to getting these pictures on all our marketing collateral and our website.”

Robin is studying an Extended Diploma in Photography and is going to Plymouth University  to study photography in September. Robin told us how he felt about winning;

“I was completely surprised when I found out that I had won, but I’m really happy that they liked my photos. I looked at their website to see what they already had in regards to photos, I then used my findings to create the perfect pictures.

I decided to take part in the competition because it’s a worthwhile project that I can use in my portfolio. I walk past the lifts every day and thought it would be great to capture part of the college.”

Congratulations Robin.
