Opportunities OTHER than A-Levels

31.08.2018

A-Levels are not the only answer for those aged 16+ who want to progress on to university or Advanced Apprenticeships.

BTECs are equivalent to A-Levels in terms of UCAS (university point) calculations and many other professional and industry-recognised qualifications can lead into career opportunities.

Tresham College in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough is part of The Bedford College Group which sends more students on to university than any school, by providing high-level qualifications that enable progression to higher education.  The Group has also, at any time, 2,500 young people working through quality apprenticeships up to degree-level and partners with links with all major professional bodies.

Group Vice Principal Corrie Harris said of the news that Northampton College was not offering A-Levels to students from this September: “There are so many options available for young people via Tresham College now it has the backing of The Bedford College Group. It is not too late to find out more.”

T-levels will NOT be available nationally until 2020 says the Government. In the meantime The Bedford College Group is already engaging with 1,000s of employers to make sure they are ready to offer the extended work experience opportunities which these new courses will require.

“Once they come on board at The Bedford College Group, we will have made all the necessary preparations and be assured that T-levels have been tried and tested,” added Corrie.
