Opera Workshop Hits the Right Notes

04.11.2011

On Friday 4th November nearly 40 students from Tresham's Performing Arts courses took part in a singing workshop held by Anna Judge, a trained Opera singer from The Academy of Music in Poland as part of their enrichment programme. Workshops such as this highlight how the skills they learn at Tresham can lead to employment and varied careers.

Since qualifying from The Academy of Music, Poland, Anna has worked as an Opera singer, Vocal trainer, Composer, Conductor and Music teacher as well as running a number of choirs (some of whom went on to win competitions). She has recently worked with Corby Women's Theatre Group and is working on an upcoming project in Poland with her own compositions.

During the two hour workshop students were given the opportunity to broaden their experience of singing and prepare them for their forthcoming university and drama school auditions as well as benefit any musical theatre and variety performance units covered during their two year course.

Throughout the year Tresham's Creative Arts and Media team organises visits from professionals to inspire the learners and offer a different set of skills to our own.
