In the UK, A Levels are the most popular entry route to university. It takes two years to complete the courses and assessment is usually through examinations at the end of the course.
The emphasis in the first year is on gaining knowledge and skills and applying these in appropriate situations. It also includes extra small group English language tutorials throughout the study.
During the second year, students continue to study the same subjects as in the first year but the course places more emphasis on analysis and synthesis and the evaluation and interpretation of materials.
