Improve Your Job Prospects on FREE course
Tresham's FREE two week ‘Employability' course will be running at the college's Wellingborough campus from Monday 23rd January 2012. The short course which runs from Monday to Thursdays is for young people aged 16 to 18 in the area to increase their job prospects and gain vital skills to improve their chances of getting a job. The course will improve individuals self confidence, interview skills and CV presentation, all vital factors in making the best first impression to future employers.
A report published last year by The Work Foundation stated for the Private Equity Foundations that:
“in a difficult labour market, young people often find it harder to gain a foothold in work and there is a real danger that youth unemployment could soon reach one million."
The two week course (four days per week) will include workshops:
- CV presentation
- Writing a letter of application
- Enhancing communication and interview skills
Guest speakers will also hold sessions to discuss the world of work and how young people can increase their chances of securing a more prosperous future.
The two week course is free and travel is paid for to enable young people to attend the sessions at Tresham's Wellingborough campus on Church Street from 9am till 3pm Monday to Thursday.
For more information, to apply or if you know of anyone who would benefit from attending aged between 16 and 18 who is currently not in education, employment or training please contact Brian McLaughlin, Young People's Engagement Officer on 0772 094 8112 before Thursday 19th January 2012.Back to news
