Graphic Designers Illustrate Their Way To Win
(From left to right – Ellea, Oliwia and Meghan)
HNC Graphic Design students at the college’s Kettering campus have been getting creative and competitive as part of the groups latest project. Steve Prosser, a professional illustrator and book designer, prepared a brief for the 10 HNC students challenging them to create a ‘licensed character’ following a presentation about the creative industry and the licensing of graphic products.
Steve returned to the college two months later to see how the group had got on and provided a critique on the completed projects using his specialist knowledge at industry standard. He selected Oliwia Zaton’s design for first prize, Ellea Fletcher’s for second prize and Meghan Davies’ for third for designing the most innovative characters that he felt could be published.
Competitions such as this gives Tresham students an opportunity to put the knowledge and skills they’ve learnt throughout their course at Tresham in to practice in a more exciting way. External businesses and speakers regularly visit the college to provide students with an insight into the art, design and graphics industry sector.
