Health Care Students Deliver Hampers for Christmas
Health and Social Care students studying at Tresham’s Corby campus have continued to donate their own time and resources to help their local community. At the end of the last term students donated food items to produce beautiful hampers that could be distributed by Home-Start Corby over the Christmas period and bring some festive cheer to local households.
Tresham’s Health and Social Care students have been supporting Home-Start Corby since September and have held bake sales to raise funds for trips and outings for local children and their families.
Home start Corby have thanked the students and staff for their ongoing support, overwhelmed by the fundraising skills of the group, and have been grateful that the group chose to support the Corby based charity.
Home Start Corby is a home visiting service which offers befriending and support to all families across the Borough of Corby where there is at least one child under the age of 5.
Home Start Corby recognises that parents find the early years of parenting a challenge at times, so can offer assistance in a non judgemental, confidential way that builds on the strengths already happening within your family. Their volunteers have been specially recruited, checked for suitability and trained to a high standard within the ethos of Home-Start’s principles and policies.
The charity was chosen by the students on the Health and Social Care courses due to the support and services it provides that relate to their future career aspirations.
