Experience Corby Needs You!
Unemployment amongst young people is one of the most important issues that needs to be tackled in Corby and Tresham College of Further and Higher Education is working with Corby and East Northants MP, Andy Sawford, to launch Experience Corby. A dedicated matching event will be held to introduce
employers and young people wanting to gain work experience on Friday 27th September from 9am at the college’s Corby campus.
This scheme is aimed at young people aged 18 – 24 who have struggled to get a foothold in the jobs market. It seeks to provide that first step on the road to a fulfilling career through gaining work experience with valued employers in the town.
Experience Corby will:
- Provide placements that are unpaid and last for between 1 and 4 weeks and take place during October 2013
- Employers will be able to choose the candidate who they feel suits their business needs best providing the chance to see if they wish to offer a longer term employment or training opportunity
- Be available for young people aged 18-24 who are unemployed and live in Corby or surrounding villages
Experience Corby is looking for even more employers to show their support with the scheme to increase the opportunities available for young people in the town and they are being encouraged to contact Rachel Kay, Deputy Principal and Managing Director at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education on 01536 419573.Back to news
