Engineering Students Welcome Back Apprentices
Thursday 9th February saw guest speakers from the engineering industry visit Tresham College of Further and Higher Education’s Corby campus to speak to 45 engineering students. As part of National Apprenticeship Week 2012, Tresham arranged for past apprentices to visit the students.
The guest speakers are employed in a variety of industries and employees included Mercedes HPE, TATA Steel and Weetabix. Tresham was delighted to welcome an engineer and a manager from Weetabix and engineers from the other companies which also included Maziaks. All the speakers are Tresham alumni and have progressed from Tresham into the engineering industry.
Students were able to ask the speakers about careers within the industry, the most enjoyable (and least enjoyable) parts of their jobs and enjoyed the fact that the speakers had all come from Tresham so there was common-ground.
Tresham prides itself on having strong links within industry which we utilise to support our students training across all subjects. To find out more, please check our news section.
