On Wednesday 27th June, two learners from Tresham’s Level 2 Electrical City and Guilds course were presented with toolkits worth over £200 by Neill Tools in recognition of being named as Learner of the Year 2012.
Martin McDonald, 16 from the college’s Wellingborough campus and Ryan McKimm, 17 from Tresham’s new Corby campus were awarded as Level 2 Electrical Learner of the Year 2012 after completing their coursework to a high standard throughout the year. Both learners will be progressing to the Level 3 Electrical C&G before gaining apprenticeships and using the skills they have learnt at college within the workplace.
Jean Wilkes, National Account Manager at Neill Tools Ltd, presented the prize of a toolkit worth over £200 to each of the learners and praised Martin and Ryan for their hard work.
Each toolkit contains V.D.E approved tools (tools that have been tested up to 10,000 volts for safety) including screwdrivers, pliers, side cutters, axle, hammer and electrical knife.
Martin McDonald said:
“I have had a great experience completing my course at Wellingborough and will be progressing to the Level 3 course next year so I can get an apprenticeship and work.”
Ryan McKimm said:
“This course has given me good experience that I can take with me in to work. The tutors have been really helpful throughout the course and whenever I have found something difficult I have been able to ask them and they are happy to explain.”
