Early Years, Health and Social Care

Many people are drawn towards a career in one of the caring professions. The variety of job roles is enormous and the personal involvement is immensely satisfying and rewarding. Whether it is care of the young or elderly, teaching or nursing, each demands qualifications for entry.

Topics covered include health, safety, nutrition, anatomy and physiology and the sociological and psychological aspects of caring for children. A key part of many of the programmes is supervised, practical placements to support the college based programme. You will gain valuable work experience in local primary schools, hospices, residential care homes, nursing homes, nurseries, special schools, hospitals, day centres and private households.

Courses are available across all three of our main campus locations from Level 1 through to Level 3 Diploma. Successful completion of these courses can lead onto higher education study programmes either at university or within Tresham’s University Centre where students can study HNC and HND in Health and Social Care.

Note: Entry onto our courses for Early Years, Health and Social care is subject to completion of a DBS check at student’s own cost.
