Do You Know All the Options After GCSEs?

17.04.2014

Tresham will be holding an open evening on Wednesday 30th April from 5.30 to 7.30pm at the Kettering campus to highlight all the courses on offer after GCSEs.

Since the raise in participation age came into effect, many young people are not aware of the different ways they can stay in education after finishing their GCSEs.

A Levels at the 6a centre are offered in ‘professional pathways’ to help lead to six broad career categories after university. However, for some, A Levels may not be the only option to consider.

Vocational courses in a range of industries are available at all levels and provide the option to progress to university. BTECs and other vocational qualifications provide UCAS points the same as A Levels and, depending on the university course, can better prepare students for degree level study.

Apprenticeships are an ideal way to learn whilst you earn a wage and can be a great way to get that first step on the career ladder if you know the industry you wish to work within. Each year more and more young people and adults choose to study this way and they progress from studying post GCSE to studying part time at degree level or setting up their own businesses.

Tutors from all course areas will be available at the campus and the customer services team will be on hand to offer specific advice about the financial and individual support available whilst learning.
