Early Years, Health and Social Care


Many people are drawn towards a career in one of the caring professions. The variety of job roles is enormous and the personal involvement is immensely satisfying and rewarding.

Whether it is care of the young or elderly, teaching or nursing, each demands qualifications for entry. Topics covered include: health; safety; nutrition; child development; anatomy; physiology and the sociological and psychological aspects of caring and supporting children’s play. A key part of many of the programmes is supervised, practical placements to support yourcollege based programme. You will gain valuable work experience in local primary schools, hospices, residential care homes, nursing homes, nurseries, special schools, hospitals, day centres and mental health services.

We also offer progression opportunities through to degree-level once you complete your Level 3 qualification.
