Why study this course?

The Advanced Diploma in Accounting will allow you to master more complex financial processes, including final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, costs and revenues and professional ethics, making it perfect for those interested in a career in bookkeeping, or who want to go on to become a fully-qualified accountant.

Our Online & On Campus approach enables students to benefit from both face-to-face teaching at the Tresham College campus and online lessons available on demand. This approach offers a truly flexible study experience.
In addition to attending face-to-face classes weekly, students will be expected to undertake between 8 and 10 hours of additional study out of college.

What will I study?

This qualification covers a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. Students will learn and master financial processes, including accounting principles and concepts, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts, VAT issues in business, management accounting costing techniques and ethical practices for accountants. This qualification further delivers software skills through spreadsheet training for accounting.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

The qualification provides the opportunity to progress into more advanced financial roles. These include accounts officer and credit controller.
This qualification allows progression to the Level 4 Professional Diploma and can be used as a route to professional AAT Bookkeeper status (AATQB). The Level 4 Professional Diploma can be used as a route to professional AAT Accountant status (MAAT).

How will I be assessed?

Computer based exams.

You will be required to pay an AAT membership fee.

This Online & On Campus (blended) learning course combines online learning with teaching on campus.

Are there any discounted fees available?

If you are aged 19 or over, in receipt of JSA Benefit, ERAG, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Income Support, low income Universal Credit (for the benefits previously listed - not Personal Independence Payments) and are unemployed, your course could be free of charge if it could help you to find work.

If you are aged 19-23 at the start of your course and do not already have a full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification then you may not have to pay any fees. For more advice on course fees and funding, please contact our Enquiries and Admissions Team on 01536 413123.

If you are taking a course costing more than £200 we can arrange for you to pay your fees in up to 7 monthly instalments, depending on the length of your course. Full terms and conditions will be supplied when you enrol.
