This online course will enable you to gain additional skills and a qualification without disrupting your day-to-day life. You will have access to specialist support from dedicated tutors throughout the programme.
The aim of this qualification is to enable you to understand the types of dementia and the importance of early diagnoses, person-centred approaches in demntia care, the role of communication, interaction and inclusion in demnetia care and support. You will also learn about the use of medication to support individuals with dementia.
Learners can either be provided with a paper resource pack and assessment booklets to complete, or access to an online portal with e-resources and online assessments.
Please note that an administration charge of £100 will be charged if learners do not complete the course within the allocated 16 weeks.
If you are aged 19 or over, in receipt of JSA Benefit, ERAG, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Income Support, low income Universal Credit (for the benefits previously listed - not Personal Independence Payments) and are unemployed, your course could be free of charge if it could help you to find work.
If you are taking a course costing more than £200 we can arrange for you to pay your fees in up to 7 monthly instalments, depending on the length of your course. Full terms and conditions will be supplied when you enrol.
If you are aged 19 or over and thinking of studying a Level 3 or 4 course, you may be entitled to an Advanced Learning Loan to help pay your tuition costs. Please see the fees and funding section more details.
