Awareness of Mental Health Problems NCFE/CACHE Level 2 Certificate (Distance Learning and Online Course)

Why study this course?

This online course will enable you to gain a new qualification whilst working. You will have access to specialist support from dedicated tutors throughout the programme.

What will I study?

This qualification aims to develop your knowledge and understanding of mental health and the problems that can cause mental ill health. Within each unit you will focus on one particular aspect of mental health exploring the meaning, causes, effects, symptoms and management of each. The course looks in detail at the impact mental health has on a person's family and friends, giving you a good idea of what it feels like to experience mental ill-health.

2. Understanding stress
3. Understanding anxiety
4. Understanding phobias
5. Understanding depression
6. Understanding post-natal depression
7. Understanding bipolar disorder
8. Understanding schizophrenia
9. Understanding dementia
10. Understanding eating disorders
11. Understanding attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
12. Understanding obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
13. Understanding Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

Course progression:
Once it has been confirmed that you have fully completed the course, there are several next steps that you can take. You can go on to study another level two distance learning course. Or you could move on to one of our Level 3 Distance Learning courses. Alternatively, you could enrol on to our Access to Higher Education course (subject to interview) or the Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools qualification (subject to entry requirements).
Career progression:
By completing any of the above courses, you will gain the skills and knowledge that employers find desirable. It is also a great opportunity for continuous professional development

How will I be assessed?

You will be provided with a resource pack with assessment booklets to complete. There is also an option to study this course online via our bespoke e-learning portal.

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

Please note that an administration charge of £100 will be charged if learners do not complete the course within the allocated 16 weeks.
