We offer Level 1 qualification courses in the three main types of welding; MIG, TIG and MMA. Students are only able to study one unit at a time however all 3 units can be completed within 1 year of study.
This course is a great introduction to the key aspects of TIG welding. By the end of the programme you will be able to set up the welding equipment, change wire, gases and electordes and produce basic welds in flat and horizontal positions. There is also a key focus on how to work safely in a welding environment.
Successful students are able to progress onto our NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Welding.
The course is assessed through 5 welded test pieces and a short written exam.
Students are required to wear strong boots and overalls during all workshop sessions. Other protective equipment will be provided.
