The Foundation Certificate in Accounting offers grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress in finance and accounting-related careers, or towards further study by offering development and formal recognition of skills.
This qualification places emphasis on the skills and knowledge required to develop a career in accounting or finance, focusing on areas such as bookkeeping transactions and controls, costing, working effectively in finance and the use of accounting software (SAGE).
On successful completion of the Certificate you will: • Be able to take the first step towards an accounting and finance career, in roles such as accounts assistant, bookkeeper and payroll clerk. • Have enhanced your chances of career progression. • Have gained an internationally-recognised qualification, with the opportunity to progress to AAT levels 3, 4 and beyond.
You will be required to pay an AAT membership fee.
If you are aged 19 or over, in receipt of JSA Benefit, ERAG, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Benefit, Income Support, Universal Credit (not Personal Independence Payments) and are unemployed, your course could be free of charge if it could help you to find work.
If you are aged 19-23 at the start of your course and do not already have a full Level 2 or Level 3 qualification then you may not have to pay any fees. Please see the fees and funding section more details.
If you are taking a course costing more than £100 we can arrange for you to pay your fees in up to 7 monthly instalments, depending on the length of your course. An admin fee of £20 is charged for this service. Full terms and conditions will be supplied when you enrol.
