Sport and Exercise Studies (Level 2)


Why study this course?

This course gives you the opportunity to learn about all of the different career paths available in the sports industry and is a great way to start to learn how to be a Sports Coach or Fitness Instructor.

What will I study?

You will gain an understanding of the structure of the sport and leisure industry and start to gain the skills and knowledge for employment in sports and fitness. You will learn about anatomy and physiology, personal fitness and leading sports activities. You will also be required to attend tutorials, complete work experience and employability skills.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

This study programme will prepare you for progression on to the Sports & Exercise Level 3 study programme. For further details on our Academy of Sport and our Elite Sport programmes please refer to our Academy of Sport brochure.

Are there any additional costs?

• Trips, visits and workbooks approx. £30
• Branded uniform approx. £50 (for Football and Rugby Academy approx. £130 to £190)

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

If you are a high level sports performer, or keen to further develop your skills in football or rugby, you can apply to one of our study programmes combined with a Sport Academy. This allows you to balance your academic studies alongside athletic development.
