Level 3 Cambridge Technicals in Applied Science have been developed to meet the changing needs of the sector, and prepare students for the challenges theyll face in Higher Education or employment. Green jobs benefit both the economy and the environment, and include everything from alternative fuels to tasty foods. The sector is growing rapidly, and is expected to outstrip other sectors of the economy, as opportunities open up for low-carbon goods and services. The course allows you to gain the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to succeed in and are recognised by the best in the business.
You will study a mandatory set of units which apply to every field of science in year one. generic units include, but are not limited to: sciencefundamentals; laboratory techniques; scientific analysis and reporting; control of hazards in the laboratory; human physiology; human nutrition and genetics. environmental science specialist modules include: environmental surveying; environmental management; waste management; conservation and biodiversity microbiology. You will study with a mixture of exams and coursework.
This Level 3 qualification can help you find employment, or give you the UCAS points needed for higher education study. You could also progress on to our HNC Applied Biology course at our Kettering Campus.
You will have a mixture of formal examinations and course work. Approximately 20% Examinations and 80% is coursework.
