This course is open to students who have successfully completed the Foundation Race Technician Pre-Apprenticeship course at Level 2 and is a great next step to realising your ambition to work within the motorsport industry.
You will study for the EAL Level 3 Diploma Engineering Technology (Motorsport), which includes advanced race car preparation, steering and suspension systems, fault diagnosis and braking system units. As an integral component of your course, if you do not already have a grade C (grade 4) or above in GCSE maths and English, we will also schedule your timetable to enable you to retake these GCSE qualifications.
You will be able to move onto a Race Technician Advanced Apprenticeship.
Continual assessments of both practical and theory work.
If you are a returning student, continuing from a Level 2 programme, you will need to purchase additional clothing costing approx. £100. If you are a new student entering the college at Level 3 you will need to pay approx. £500 to purchase clothing and PPE equipment.
This course is free if you are aged under 19 or are 19-23 and studying your first full Level 3 qualification. If you aged over 23 or studying a second Level 3 qualification, you will need to pay a course fee (please contact us to discuss fees).
Entry is subject to a successful interview.
You need to have considerable passion for motorsport and the desire for a career as a race mechanic.
