Foundation Race Technician Pre-Apprenticeship Course (Level 2)


Why study this course?

This popular course is a must if you have a serious drive to become a professional race mechanic.

What will I study?

The main component of this course is the EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology (Motorsport), which includes race car preparation techniques, engine and transmission units, as well as an introduction to the motorsport industry working practices. The course also contains a significant practical element within the study programme. As an integral component of your course, if you do not already have a grade C (grade 4) or above in GCSE maths and English, we will also schedule your timetable to enable you to retake these GCSE qualifications.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

You could move onto the Race Technician apprenticeship or full-time Level 3 Race Technician Pre-Apprenticeship course.

How will I be assessed?

Continual assessments of both practical and theory work.

Are there any additional costs?

All students will have purchase uniforms at an approximate cost of £300 (costs ccould be subject to change).

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

Entry is subject to a successful interview.

You need to have considerable passion for motorsport and the desire for a career as a race mechanic.
