This popular course is a must if you have a serious drive to become a professional race mechanic.
The main component of this course is the EAL Level 2 Diploma in Engineering Technology (Motorsport), which includes race car preparation techniques, engine and transmission units, as well as an introduction to the motorsport industry working practices. The course also contains a significant practical element within the study programme.
You could move onto the Race Technician apprenticeship or full-time Level 3 Race Technician Pre-Apprenticeship course.
Continual assessments of both practical and theory work.
If you are aged 16-18 years old on 31 August 2020, a British or European Union resident, live in England and looking to study at Level 2 and Level 3, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees are FREE.
If you are aged 19 years or older 31 August 2020, a British or European Union resident, live in England and looking to study a full-time Level 2 qualification, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees will be FREE. (Please note: there are some postcode exemptions for funding our Student Recruitment Team will be able to confirm this). For level 3 qualifications, you will need to pay full tuition fees (or apply for an advanced learner loan if you reside in England and are eligible).
All students will have to purchase uniforms at an approximate cost of £300 (subject to change).
Entry is subject to a successful interview.
