This popular course is a must if you have a serious drive to become a professional race mechanic.
This study programme includes race car preparation techniques, engine and transmission units, as well as an introduction to motorsport industry working practices. The course also contains a significant practical element within the study programme.
Once you have completed the Race Technician Study Programme you will be assessed on the progression made during the year. You will be invited to progress onto the Race Technician Level 3 programme. You may also progress onto an Employer Led Race Technician Apprenticeship during the programme if employment with a race team is secured.
Continual assessments of both practical and theory work.
If you are aged 16-18 years old on 31 August 2021, a British or European Union resident, live in England and looking to study at Level 2 and Level 3, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees are FREE.
If you are aged 19 years or older 31 August 2021, a British or European Union resident, live in England and looking to study a full-time Level 2 qualification, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees will be FREE. (Please note: there are some postcode exemptions for funding our Student Recruitment Team will be able to confirm this). For level 3 qualifications, you will need to pay full tuition fees (or apply for an advanced learner loan if you reside in England and are eligible).
All students will have to purchase uniforms at an approximate cost of £300 (cost could be subject to change).
Entry is subject to a successful interview.
