Motor Vehicle Maintenance (Level 2)


Why study this course?

This qualification is recognised throughout industry as the recommended Level 2 technical certificate for students who wish to undertake a motor vehicle apprenticeship.

What will I study?

You will study a range of topics through both theory and practical work including health and safety, vehicle system skills, engines, use of tools and equipment, vehicle maintenance, brakes, ignition, fuel, exhaust, steering, electrics and suspension. You will work towards the City & Guilds VRQ units as appropriate.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

This study programme will prepare you for the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance study programme or employment as part of an apprenticeship programme.

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

It is expected that you will progress from this course onto an Apprenticeship programme.

What qualifications will I gain?

• Light Vehicle Maintenance City & Guilds Level 2 Diploma (1 year) AND • English and maths qualifications if required
