Motor Vehicle Maintenance (Level 3)


Why study this course?

This qualification is recognised throughout the industry as one of the recommended Level 3 technical certificates for students who wish to progress onto or are undertaking a motor vehicle apprenticeship.

What will I study?

You will study a range of topics through both theory and practical work, building upon the work covered at Level 2 including electronic management systems, vehicle systems, engines, vehicle maintenance, brakes, ignition, fuel, exhaust, steering, electrics and suspension. You will work towards the Level 3 City & Guilds units as appropriate.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

This Level 3 qualification will prepare you for employment on an apprenticeship programme.

Are there any additional costs?

• Personal protective equipment (PPE) approx. £30 to £40

If you are aged 19 or over, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help you pay the tuition fees for this course. Alternatively, you can pay by instalments to help make the cost more affordable. Find out more about your payment options at www.bedford.ac.uk/loans.

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

All of our students are encouraged to complete valuable work experience
throughout the course and we use our various contacts to make sure you get the most out of these opportunities.
It is expected that you will progress from this course onto an Apprenticeship programme.
