Why study this course?

Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy study programmes at Tresham College are consistently some of our most popular at the College. Our experienced team of tutors will work to develop your professional skills, taking you from the core techniques through to the latest technological advancements in hairdressing and beauty therapy. Tresham Studios, our commercial hairdressing, barbering, make-up and beauty salons, operate at Corby and Kettering Campuses. These well-equipped, industry standard environments give you the opportunity to gain practical, supervised experience working with fee-paying clients. Our study programmes require attendance at tutorials, work experience and enhancement sessions.

What will I study?

You will learn a variety of hairdressing techniques including shampoo and conditioning, cutting, colouring, perming, styling, plaiting, twisting, blow drying, dressing and finishing hair. You will learn how to consult with clients and promote products and services.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

This study programme will enable you to gain employment as a junior stylist. Alternatively you may wish to progress on to the Level 3 study programme in hairdressing to learn more advanced techniques and skills.

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

Entry is subject to a successful interview, practical skills test and tutor reference. Strict salon rules apply in relation to dress code; hair, uniform and shoes.
