This is the final step to becoming a fully qualified Race mechanic.
An apprenticeship is a great way to earn while you learn, working as part of a race team. You will be travelling extensively with a race team and working hands-on in the pit lane, gaining practical experience in all aspects of motorsport. The study programme includes advanced race car preparation techniques as well as race car set up. The job of a Race Technician requires dedication and involves a lot of travelling and long work hours.
You will be qualified to progress on to international level motorsport teams, including F1.
An assessor will regularly visit you in your workplace to observe you at work and to assess evidence of work that you have completed.
If you are aged 16-18 years old on 31 August 2021, a British or European Union resident, live in England and looking to study at Level 2 and Level 3, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees are FREE.
If you are aged 19 years or older 31 August 2021, a British or European Union resident, live in England and looking to study a full-time Level 2 qualification, the tuition fees and any exam registration fees will be FREE. (Please note: there are some postcode exemptions for funding our Student Recruitment Team will be able to confirm this). For level 3 qualifications, you will need to pay full tuition fees (or apply for an advanced learner loan if you reside in England and are eligible).
