Art & Design (Level 2)


Why study this course?

This one year course gives you the opportunity to start specialising in an area of Art and Design. The study is still quite broad-based, and you will keep your options open for the following year when you can choose from a wider range of specialist Level 3 study programmes.

What will I study?

You will study 2D and 3D processes, art and design history, illustration, textiles, presentation of work and working in the art and design industry.

What will I be able to do after I complete this course?

This study programe will prepare you for progression on to the Level 3 study programmes in Art and Design, Graphic Design, Photography, Fashion or Media.

Are there any additional costs?

• Drawing materials (drawing pads, sketchbooks, pens, pencils etc.)
• Two trips per year approx. £15 per trip

Is there anything else I need to know when considering this course?

Entry is subject to a successful interview. You must bring a portfolio which shows examples of your art, design or media work which should demonstrate an enthusiasm for the subject. We are looking for potential and interest - not a perfect portfolio yet.

What qualifications will I gain?

• Art & Design UAL Level 2 Diploma AND • English and maths qualifications if required
