This qualification is recognised throughout the industry as one of the recommended Level 3 technical certificates for students who wish to progress onto or are undertaking a motor vehicle apprenticeship.
You will study a range of topics through both theory and practical work, building upon the work covered at Level 2 including electronic management systems, vehicle systems, engines, vehicle maintenance, brakes, ignition, fuel, exhaust, steering, electrics and suspension.
You will work towards the Level 3 City and Guilds units as appropriate.
This course will prepare you for employment on an Apprenticeship programme.
Practical work is continually assessed in the workshop. Theory work is assessed through assignments and a final phase test.
You will need to purchase your own personal protective equipment (PPE) for the course including safety boots and college branded clothing, approx. cost £30 – £40.
All of our students are encouraged to complete valuable work experience
throughout the course and we use our various contacts to make sure you get the most out of these opportunities.
It is expected that you will progress from this course onto an Apprenticeship programme.
