Core Skills

19.02.2014

Tresham is committed to increasing the opportunities available for young people and adults in the communities we serve and have a range of courses to prepare them for returning to education. If you are aged between 16 – 18 years and lack confidence or have not yet achieved formal qualifications, then our flexible Tresham Youth Training programme could be for you. You are able to join the course at any time and a programme will be developed and tailored for your own specific requirements. The programme can include functional skills (English and Mathematics), in addition to personal and social development, job hunting, work placements and vocational skills. If you are aged between 16 – 25 years old you could enrol onto our 12 week Prince’s Trust Programme. This programme is aimed at enabling you to gain the skills you need to improve your chance of moving into a job, education or training. For 2014/15 we are creating a new course of study, Foundation Routes to Work. These focussed courses will be based on key areas such as retail, logistics and event management, equipping you with the skills needed to increase your chances of gaining employment in these fields. If you are living in this country permanently but English is not your first language, the ESOL course will help you develop your speaking, reading, writing and numeracy skills. Following successful completion of either of these courses you can also apply to enrol on one of the College’s Level 1 courses.
