Comic Relief 2015
Tresham students got involved with this year’s Red Nose Day by hosting a range of fundraising activities to raise money for this year’s Comic Relief appeal.
Since its launch in 1988, Red Nose Day has become something of a British institution. It’s the day, every two years, when people get together and do something funny for money at home, school and work.
A group of Level 2 Sport students organised a Futsal Tournament on Tuesday 10th March. The event raised money for Comic Relief as well as contributing to their “Planning a Sports Event Unit”. The overall winning team were the “Yellow” Team which consisted of students from year 1 of the Level 3 Sports course. The total amount raised for this event stands at £70.56.
Another school area which got involved to raise funds for Comic Relief were Foundation Learning who set up a variety of events and asked staff and students to donate chocolate items, sweets, biscuits, toiletries or any unwanted gifts to give as prizes. They raised a total of £64 a great help for the cause.
Clare Malings from Wellingborough Customer Services Team baked cupcakes and sold them to staff and students to raise more money. Whilst staff members at Tresham’s Corby campus fundraised in the catering facilities and Tresham Learning Resource Centres also donated their fines for the week totalling £63.60.
Thanks to all those who donated or fundraised for Comic Relief who helped make a total donation of more than £200!Back to news
