Celebrating 6a Sixth Form Academy Success
AS Results: 2xA’s, 1xB, 1xC
After completing my GCSEs at Southfield School, I was keen to enrol at Tresham for my A Level studies. I felt that I needed a change of scene from the typical school environment, and after attending an open evening I felt that Tresham had an open and friendly atmosphere.
I have enjoyed working to a more flexible study programme because it has encouraged me to take responsibility for my own learning. At times, this proved to be quite challenging and it took me awhile to adapt, but I really feel I have benefitted from a more independent approach.
Hopefully I can continue to do well in my second year as I have big ambitions to study Psychology at Oxford.

After finishing my GCSEs at Brooke Weston Academy, I decided to take a year out to work full time and give me a chance to decide what I wanted to do as my next step. I enjoyed my time working in a furniture shop in Corby and continue to do this on a part time basis.
When I decided that I wanted to return to full time education to study A Levels, I had to choose between going back to Brooke Weston or studying at Tresham. The opportunity to have a different learning experience in an environment that promoted more independence led me to choose Tresham.
My AS results were not as good as I had hoped, but this gave me the push I needed to work hard for the second year.
I am really pleased with my final grades and glad that the hard work paid off. I am now looking forward to studying Economics and Politics at The University of Sheffield.
My time at Tresham was very enjoyable and I made lots of new friends; it was definitely the right choice.

I am delighted with my results, I wasn’t expecting them to be quite so good and my predicted grades were lower.
I only just met the entry requirements to study A Levels because my GCSEs weren’t the best. There were times during the first few weeks at Tresham where I felt that I wouldn’t be able to cope. I am also dyslexic, so was concerned that this may hold me back, but the support that I have received to overcome any issues has been fantastic.
I am now looking forward to studying Events Management, Arts and Entertainment at Sheffield Hallam university.Back to news
