Beauty Therapy Competition Leads to Dream Job
Beauty Therapy student, Elisabeta Adela Serbu, reached the final of the prestigious ‘Student of Excellence’ competition run by Ragdale Hall and impressed so much that she was offered a position with the luxury spa.
The competition involved 24 colleges from around the region – each having two or three student representatives, which saw Elisabeta competing alongside fellow Tresham students Ellee Butlin and Aisha Singh.
The finalists were made to work hard and had to complete a number of tasks that included an interview, written exam, an assessed manicure and a full body massage. Unfortunately Elisabeta was not awarded the winner of the event, but she was pleased with the recognition she received for her achievements.
“It has been such a great experience; getting so far in the competition was fantastic, but to be offered a job at the end of it was incredible.
I am in my third year at Tresham and have learnt so much. The tutors have been very supportive and the practice we get providing treatments to clients has really helped with my development. The standard at Ragdale Hall is so high, so I am really looking forward to starting my career with them.”
The awards evening included a presentation about the importance of the competition, followed by a tour of Ragdale Hall and a chance to talk to exhibitors about their products and treatments. The evening concluded with the presentation of awards and certificates.
Tresham has enjoyed a good working relationship with Ragdale Hall for a number of years, with many of our Beauty Therapy students experiencing work placements at the venue. We have also achieved their “College of Excellence” award that recognises our professional standards and the high quality of our students.Back to news
