Apprenticeships – Get in, Go Far!
On Saturday 7th February Tresham College of Further and Higher Education will be hosting its first Apprenticeship Open Day from 10am till 1pm at the college’s Corby campus, to highlight the variety of vacancies it has available for anyone aged 16 or over who wants to kick start their career by earning whilst they are learning.
Evolve Business Training (Tresham’s Business Training arm) will have its team of experts and assessors on hand to provide more information about the apprenticeships available in the county, the employers Tresham work with, career prospects for apprentices and the financial support available to young people and their parents.
Since 2012, Tresham has recruited more than 1,000 apprentices to work in growing industries including rail engineering, digital media and construction for businesses of all sizes within Northamptonshire and beyond.
Over 100 current vacancies are available which offer great career prospects. Representatives from some of the employers Tresham work with will also be available to discuss their apprenticeship schemes as well as what is expected alongside their own apprentices who will be able to speak about their experiences.
Apprenticeships are real jobs with training that allow anyone aged 16 or over to earn whilst they learn alongside gaining a nationally recognised qualification. They take between 1 – 5 years to complete and cover a range of industries to degree level and beyond giving apprentices a kick start to their career with many paying up to £300 per week.
The open day is also open to local employers who can visit to find out more about offering apprenticeships within their workplace, how to obtain grants to help employ apprentices and the support in the recruitment and selection of apprentices from the Evolve Business Training team.
