A Level Success for Tresham Students
A Level learners at Tresham are celebrating today after receiving their A Level results. Their hard work and determination, coupled with dedicated support from their teachers and a range of support staff has led to good results for the College. Out of 102 A2 Level entries across 14 different subjects the overall pass rate this year is 98% with 72% achieving grades A* – C profiles. These results mean that learners will now be spending the next few days with staff at the college confirming their places at university.
100% pass rates at grades A*-C were achieved in Physics, Further Maths and Film Studies.
Megan Long, 18, achieved 2 A’s and an A* in English Literature and Language said:
“Studying A Levels at Tresham has been awesome and the tutors have become more like friends who have helped me achieve the grades. Studying at college has meant that I’ve studied in an environment where everyone wants to learn.”
Megan is now planning on taking a gap year to teach in Kenya and may apply to university on her return.
Ben Lloyd, 21, achieved 2 B’s and a C which has meant he can confirm his place to study Maths at Portsmouth University. He commented:
“After working for a bit after my GCSEs I decided that I wanted to train to be a teacher and felt that Tresham offered the best option for me. I have had an amazing experience studying A levels at Tresham with kind, respectful staff who are there when you need them.

“We are pleased with our 98% A2 Level pass rate. This year we have seen many examples of young people achieving their best and being able to progress to the university of their choice through their commitment to succeed and the support of some fantastic tutors and the Learning Resources Team.”

“I am thrilled with the excellent A Level performance our learners have achieved this year and am confident that we will build on this success as Tresham invests further in its A Level provision with a dedicated 6a Sixth Form Academy Centre. Our students have told us how we have provided the opportunity to develop the additional skills that are required at university with the knowledge that they are supported throughout their journey. Congratulations to everyone that has worked hard and been committed to achieving such great success, well done!
