Level 1 Awards, Certificates and Diplomas in “Personal Progression” and “Step Up” with a learning focus on a variety of Vocational aspects including:
- Care
- Youth Work
- Volunteering
- Catering
- Painting and Decorating
- Carpentry
- Bricklaying
- Plastering
- Motor Vehicle
- Sport
- Uniformed Services
- Administration
- Hairdressing
- Beauty Therapy
- Retail
Within these areas there are induction units, Core units and vocationally specific units and will help to develop skills in a variety of ways including Personal and Social Development, communication confidence and well as vocationally specific learning and hopefully experience.
The Awards, Certificates and Diplomas are based around completion of a unitised programme where each unit has a credit value:
- In order to achieve an award at Level 1 you must complete units to a value of 6 mandatory credits.
- In order to achieve a Level 1 Certificate you must have completed 21 Credits where your 6 mandatory units from your award can be used.
- In order to achieve a Level 1 Diploma you must have completed 42 Credits where 9 are from the mandatory group.
This Diploma programme will be run in conjunction with the functional skills programme in order to help full accreditation of Level 1 Diplomas. You can claim Level 1 Awards and Certificates without successful completion of Functional skills elements. However, in order to receive the Full diploma you must complete the functional skills programme also.
