Week 2 - Residential week

The teambuilding residential week is a five day intensive teambuilding week away which offers learners a chance to push their mental and physical boundaries to the limit in trust and teambuilding, confidence and communication. For our week 2 teambuilding residential we currently take our learners to Prince's Trust approved residential centre(s) in the peak district, Derbyshire, with activities delivered by qualified instructors of 'Foundry Mountain Activities', overviewed by the group's Team Leader.

Each Team cooks and cleans for each other and take part in mental and physical activities (depending on weather conditions) such as:

  • Rock climbing
  • Abseiling
  • Caving
  • Problem solving activities
  • Team-building challenges
  • Orienteering
  • Raft building
  • Bridge building

This week is certainly not a holiday and learners must be prepared for long days of physically and mentally challenging activities but the results are very exciting, fun and rewarding. It allows team members to gain much better knowledge of each others skills and abilities in preparation for the rest of the programme.

Important Notes:

  1. Our strict 'No drugs and/or alcohol policy' also applies through this week for ALL learners and staff, regardless of age. Individuals will be asked to leave the programme if they are not able to follow this policy. This is to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all taking part.
  2. If you need to contact a young person in an emergency please feel free to contact the Team Leaders mobile telephone and be prepared to leave a voice mesasage as activities and signal loss in Derbyshire may intefere.  We promise to call you back when we can!
