Tresham Learners Support Operation Christmas Child

16 Nov 2009

Learners and staff at Tresham College of Further and Higher Education have continued their support for the Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child appeal.  Last year Operation Christmas Child sent over 1.2 million shoeboxes packed full of gifts and goodies to children in disadvantaged situations in Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia and Tresham students have delivered 63 filled boxes to the charity, 17 more than in 2008.

The charity is one of six chosen by learners to be supported during 2009/10 and is coordinated by the Students' Union.

President of the Tresham Students' Union, Ebony Taylor, 18 said:

"As young people, we are often criticised for not thinking of others, but at Tresham we are committed to supporting charities through the Students' Union.  Students and staff from the Childcare courses at Tresham are particularly keen to be involved and their efforts to support this cause this year have been outstanding."
